2022-05-22 09:45:00 | I said, if you read my post, that I think mankind is contributing to the problem. Electric cars are but a drop in a bucket. People's attitude to wastage, burning forests, and population growth would be 3 things to start with. I did not agree with you that climate change is a fallacy. :( Ken Ken

2022-05-22 21:31:00 | People's attitude to wastage, burning forests, and population growth would be 3 things to start with . Auckland Transport has been accused of a "bulldozer" mentality in wanting to slice a new highway through 200-year-old trees . A 4 . 2ha native bush block in the path of the $472 million-plus highway was described at a planning hearing by veteran Forest and Bird member Graham Falla today as a natural treasure demanding preservation as other cultures protected their ancient monuments . (this was a few years ago) . stuff . co . nz/national/128659394/conservationists-fear-for-native-geckos-if-oldgrowth-forest-felled-council-reviews-consents" target="_blank">www . stuff . co . nz The felling of old-growth forest where conservationists have raised concerns over native geckos to make way for a wider road has been put on hold after the council decided new resource consents might be needed . An initial consent allowed for the felling of trees in a block of low-land podocarp forest covering more than 20 hectares to widen Katherine Mansfield Drive in Whitemans Valley . This is now . Oh it's only geckos . Or bees . Or elephants . Or any other species . Or trees . Developers ARE the biggest problem . Or humans . Let's have a whole heap less of us for starters .

2022-05-22 22:16:00 | . . . but to suppose 7+ billion people cutting down all the worlds forests and spewing millions of tons of pollution into the air does not have an effect is a bit of a stretch . Cant argue with that, but The fanatics , with their tales of impending doom, are the cause of the pushback by the average person the scaremongering, and the lies & TWEAKED data . presenting theories as facts . The earth has had many cycles of climate change . In the past , the earth has been both MUCH warmer & much colder . Sea levels have been much higher & lower Its part of the natural cycle . Humans are accelerating things into a warmer part of the natural cycle, faster than usual . Those who endlessly rant about Global Warming , never want to give up their cars , their meat, their overseas holidays (via polluting airplanes), They wont give up their Chinese made products made using Coal powered electricity . Even an Electric car is still part of the problem Double standards and virtue signaling .

2022-05-22 23:23:00 | You'll notice that these days they are blaming everything out of the ordinary on climate change . In the 50s they used to blame that sort of thing on "the bomb . " I wonder - once "climate change" has finally run it's course, what they will blame in the future? Not that I am denying climate change as some nutters do . I just wonder what they will blame next . :groan:

2022-05-23 00:36:00 | Why anyone believes that paying a carbon tax has the slightest effect on the climate is beyond me . It is just a way of making some people very rich with an unaccountable trough to dip their snouts into whilst they jet around the world telling everyone else what to do . The climate changes, it always has and it always will . No tax is going to change that reality . We could do a lot better than we currently do to stop polluting the planet .

2022-05-23 01:25:00 | carbon tax, carbon credits , carbon offsets are all just a way to Pretend you are doing something . When your country is really spitting out more than your share of greenhouse gasses (per head of population) Or, shut down gas exploration, then rely on burning IMPORTED dirty coal instead . so, pretend to be making a difference , but actually making things worse (current Labor government)
