| 1485950 | 2022-05-04 00:10:00 | Decided to research the hotel: www.stuff.co.nz Hanmer Springs Business Association chairman Michael Malthus said he was disappointed the hotel, which was one of the bigger employers in town, was not reopening. “We have always seen it as an anchor of the village. “The Heritage will be a big loss to us in more ways than one, not just as an employer providing a conference and accommodation hub, but the history of the building and the grounds.” The hotel dates back to 1897 when it was an 18-room wooden lodge. It was converted to a hospital for soldiers returning from World War I. The existing Spanish-style building was built in 1932 and a number of separate units have been added over the years. "It's a beautiful building but no-one wants to stay there. They want to stay in a crib for less money." |

| 1485951 | 2022-05-04 07:02:00 | As I said the hotel is open again just with new owners and a new name. It is now called The Hanmer Hotel as just informed by my tame iSite person aka SWMBO. I think between the 2 of us we know the owners of all the hotels, motels and campgrounds. |

| 1485953 | 2022-05-07 21:37:00 | Certainly a place I want to visit - the camping grounds look great. We stayed at the camping ground in our motorhome a year or so back and loved it. The pools were great. It is a bit out of the way but worth the trip.:) |

Lose all your customers....and the rich are the ones who'd stay there, Just had a look: Classic Room NZD 179 Garden Patio Room NZD 189 Garden Studio NZD 219 Actually not bad, there are some places here worse than that and nowhere near as flash.... Garden....nice. But continental breakfast platter for two No, why? Have an English breakfast...Come on, people are on holiday, eat tasty food not healthy.. lol |
