She is walking the equivalentof a marathon 6 days a week for the next 5 weeks, and has given up all of her holidays to do the walk. It is not without trouble, as she has been troubled by a stomach virus, blisters and possibilities of losing toenails. Did I mention she's my second cousin? :D |

| 719736 | 2008-11-12 20:42:00 | Most commendable! I certainly would not walk to town, let alone the length of the country! I'm not certain why people would pay someone money to walk anywhere. I will not sponsor anyone to walk, run, jump or any other activity. Not that I have anything against it, but I would rather pay someone for doing some work around my place. Does not have to be much - mow the lawn, cut the hedge, dig the garden. The scouts used to have a "bob-a-job" week some years back and they were paid one shilling (a "bob") for a job they would do around your place. Why not bring that back? If your cousin was to do something like that she would have my support. |
