| 719019 | 2008-11-09 18:40:00 | I am really pleased that Labour lost and that Cullen has seen the train coming and resigned as deputy leader. He has been a poor minister of finance, he kept our taxes high when we had big surpluses and now in 6 months we have gone into a huge deficit, before the main impact of the overseas credit crunch affected us. The only thing he did well was to set up his Cullen super fund to build a fund to pay for the retiring baby boomers which was a first move to increase our poor savings rate. (Kiwi bank was another that was Jim Anderton's baby) Now he has the cheek to say that he will be watching National to make sure they deliver on their plan to improve our growth. Cullen wants to see our wages rise to match Australia's and watch our GDP grow so that we move up the OECD ! That move up the OECD was one of their goals when they came into office, but it got quietly forgotten when they realised they could not do it with their policies. They also set up a web site to attract NZ ex pats back home ! (dur) and they sent Parakura Horomia over to Sydney to try to bring back some Maori's to NZ - once again with no success (they were not stupid !) |
