i am changing a faulty hdd on my toshiba laptop, i needed to know how i can install windows on that new hdd. i dont have any recovery disks etc. can i use the windows vista oem disk and insert the serial on the sticker located under the laptop.

Simply put in the DVD, boot from it, load in Vista, use the COA on the back of the laptop when prompted for a Key.

If for some reason it doesn't activate when prompted, you simply call MS on the number provided and tell them you used the product key on the bottom of the laptop to reinstall windows, and they will talk you through putting in a new code.

You will need to also go to Toshiba's site, locate the model of laptop and download the drivers for it.
