None of us want to linger as veges.

Apart from Terry.

:)

Long way off for me, probably my thinking will change in the future, but right now I can think of nothing I'd like less than being in a rest home, incapable of having fun, wasting money that could be given to grandkids and being a burden on friends and family.

Maybe take a brand new aston for a test drive, go out in style, **** on the seat and screaming in a fireball. :D

I suspect you are not alone, not wanting to be a burden AND a vege.

Though a good spud takes a bit of beating.

718598 2008-11-11 04:59:00 I have no intention of saving.

I'd rather spend my money now then when I'm old and ****ed.

Though I have no intention of retiring either.

I do though have every intention of being dead at some stage, and with a bit of luck I will be in massive debt when the day comes.

Hhmmm...
That'll be a bit tough on the wife & kids, won't it?

Hate to say it, but you sort-of gave up that bit of grandiose "showtime" stuff when you gave up bachelorhood...
...unless you want to be hated after death, that is?

Still, I guess it sounds good in theory...

718599 2008-11-12 06:41:00 Post Mortem remorse is a myth. (For the morted one anyway.) When you die, your surviving relatives are supposed to be saddened; not jubilantly planning how to spend the spoils.
A successful life should end with at least three truly unhappy bank managers deeply grief stricken at the graveside. Lesser organisers may have to be content with a solitary inland revenuer throwing him/herself after the coffin.
