Well why does the government think they need to help Kiwi's save?
If people are so dumb that they don't think about saving then its their own stupid fault.

Problem is,if left to their own devices,Kiwis would end up destitute and that would not look good.

We (kiwis collectively) just need to learn to be sensible with money.

I never thought kiwisaver was a good idea, definitley didn't sign up for it, and my general lack of trust in anything the government does has worked out well. Now we get tax cuts, IMO much more valuable than a nest egg you cant get at till your beginning to die. I always enjoyed telling the muppets at the bank why I didn't want kiwisaver. :D

I feel sorry for all the sheep who signed up. :dogeye:

718590 2008-11-10 19:58:00 I have no intention of saving.

I'd rather spend my money now then when I'm old and ****ed.

Though I have no intention of retiring either.

I do though have every intention of being dead at some stage, and with a bit of luck I will be in massive debt when the day comes.

Would you say that is thought through?

The idea is to save a bit so that you can have a pleasant old age
Mind you,it could be nice being destitute in an old folks home.

Where does bad health come into it,we must assume the best, then keep fingers crossed.
None of us want to linger as veges.
