You've completely missed the point of my objection.

I don't care how preachy you want to get about other people's "vices."
It's your prerogative to sound smug in your posts, after all.

But I found "the smokes and whisky will kill him soon hopefully " too much to wear...

(Did you say you're a realist?)

Not always true.

I know people who've smoked well into their late eighties.

For some people it's one of the few pleasures they have as they get older. And if it kills them, then it saves them from dementia doing the dirty job first. People have their reasons, and they have their choices.

Except can they not do it around me? I hate the smell of the things. Makes me feel ill.

718710 2008-11-12 09:09:00 Well, in some respects the voting was a success.
I managed to vote in a non-church polling place, which is not all that easy around here. I had to vote for a party I do not wholeheartedly endorse, but I got to vote against 18 other parties. That was good.
While voting for a clown with a near zero chance of election, I gave a thumbs-down, 1 finger up, to 9 real dorks, it is just a pity they did not hear my vote against them as a loud raspberry.
The weather was really too good for voting, it should have been raining to make the day a 100% waste of time.
