Desperation tactics??? :) In actual fact, it's not uncommon - we even got a call from the National Party supporters this morning offering us a ride to the Polling place. Turned it down - it's such a nice day, we walked. |

| 718557 | 2008-11-08 01:27:00 | "I am just going outside and may be some time." With those words I cast my vote. Unfortunately the ballot boxes were inside!!! Bugger, always happens to me when I go for a historical quote on exit - I get it wrong :banana:banana Ken |

I understand that this was done last election in South Auckland, and I'd be interested to see whether expenditure (i.e. vehicle rental, petrol etc.) needs to be, or is declared to the electoral commission. |

| 718559 | 2008-11-08 01:51:00 | Aren't electionairing banners meant to be down on election day? There is a "gone by lunchtime" one hanging from a prominent Auckland motorway overbridge. | GoodHour (12218) | ||
| 718560 | 2008-11-08 02:09:00 | (snip) - we even got a call from the National Party supporters this morning offering us a ride to the Polling place . We got the JW's yesterday instead of a political party . They didn't offer me a ride, but they did offer me "The Truth" . I couldn't cope with that so I sent them on their way . . . I notice they are now sending out pretty young women - in our neighbourhood anyway . Sex sells even The Truth apparently . |

I got an electioneering letter in the post from Winnie today, which I think is illegal as well. Addressed to John Key c/- my name. The nice man from Tauranga has even set up a website for me - www.[myname].MrKey.co.nz. I won't be taking up his kind offer. It is one of those chatty letters where he addresses me by my first name, as though he is a mate. If he was a mate, he would know that I have always been called by my second name. Prat. |

| 718562 | 2008-11-08 02:24:00 | We went at 9 this morning. To beat the crowds:thumbs: There was one other person just leaving. Actually later on apparently there was a crowd. Well what counts as a crowd here anyway. I had the <no idea who obscure> party in the shop the other day and an Act person yesterday. The Act person said would I read this pamphlet if he gave it to me, I said no. <was busy anyway>, so he said oh good, one less I have to hand out. No signs of people from major parties..... |

I sent her packing before she even got one word out after I opened the door. I was voting for her and the nats anyway and had no wish to actually talk to her, but had they had a pretty young thing instead maybe I would have invited her in for an hour or so. (This was a few days ago, not this morning) |
