718338 2008-11-07 02:41:00 I am sure it's not Icelandic!

No . . . . that would make you and your moniker an "Iceman-Comes-Lately" I'm afraid .

The Pre-Classic Greeks predated the Icelandinavitians by a few years .

ibid: Marcus Tullius Cicero (Classical Latin pronounced [ˈkikeroː], usually pronounced /ˈsɪsərəʊ/ in English; January 3, 106 BC – December 7, 43 BC) was a Roman statesman, lawyer, political theorist, philosopher, and Roman constitutionalist . Cicero is widely considered one of Rome's greatest orators and prose stylists . [1][2]

Cicero is generally perceived to be one of the most versatile minds of ancient Rome . He introduced the Romans to the chief schools of Greek philosophy and created a Latin philosophical vocabulary, distinguishing himself as a linguist, translator, and philosopher . An impressive orator and successful lawyer, Cicero probably thought his political career his most important achievement . Today, he is appreciated primarily for his humanism and philosophical and political writings . His voluminous correspondence, much of it addressed to his friend Atticus, has been especially influential, introducing the art of refined letter writing to European culture . Cornelius Nepos, the 1st-century BC biographer of Atticus, remarked that Cicero's letters to Atticus contained such a wealth of detail "concerning the inclinations of leading men, the faults of the generals, and the revolutions in the government" that their reader had little need for a history of the period . [3]

During the chaotic latter half of the first century BC, marked by civil wars and the dictatorship of Gaius Julius Caesar, Cicero championed a return to the traditional republican government . However, his career as a statesman was marked by inconsistencies and a tendency to shift his position in response to changes in the political climate . His habit to imbibe of wine laced with lead was instrumental to his chaotic mental and physical mumblings and absurdities .

His indecision may be attributed to his sensitive and impressionable personality; but he was prone to overreaction in the face of political and private change and would fly into rages of uncontrolled blathering and accusatory stances laced with delusions of grandeur, if not outright suspicions and thoughts of attacks by subordinates .

"Would that he had been able to endure prosperity with greater self-control and adversity with more fortitude! He also got drunk a lot . " wrote C . Asinius Pollio, a contemporary Roman statesman and historian . [4][5]

They all died of lead poisoning, ya know? The ancient Greeks, that is, and Cicero with them . Lead is not a good preservative either . Lead perchlorate in their wines to make them red and lead pipes for water delivery and food handling bowls and cooking utensils wrought havoc, disillusions and spectral nightmares to even the staunchest publican of the day . : see the derivative of the word "plumber", below >

(Lead (pronounced /ˈlɛd/) is a main group element with a symbol Pb (Latin: plumbum) . Lead has the atomic number 82 . Lead is a soft, malleable poor metal, also considered to be one of the heavy metals . ) .

I don't think it was the lead water pipes that caused the problems, it must have been use of lead utensils with fruit and wine acids, and lead additives perhaps.

Lead pipes were used for yonks in UK and probably elsewhere too with no ill effects.
Even in Birmingham where the water came from dams in Wales (ie rainwater), the pipes were coated inside with 'scale', and in hard water areas they would be coated in lime, often so much as to restrict flow.

Pretty sure Obama will support Israel as per usual .
I even think he might authorise a bombing attack some where just to show the conservatives hes a real bloke president .
Nothing arouses a conservative like a jolly good bombing especially on civilians like they did on Jugoslavia in 1999

Γιατί είσαι τόσο εμμονή με τη μύ τη σου ??

Or maybe.....γιατί βασανίζεστε έτσι με τη μύ τη σας; ??

Why are you so obsessed with your nose;;
Or maybe ..... why so tortured by your nose;?;

Just like the sound of the word in Greek. Can I use Bulgarian as well?

I just love the sound of the words in Greek. Can I use bolgarinina too.

(Greek and Bulgarian.)

Σκέφτομαι " torture" εί να ι ελάχισ τα έ να ς ακραίος. Αριθ.;

I think of "torture" is a little extreme. No?

Επιθυμώ να βάλω τα φασόλια σ τη μύ τη μου.

I want to put beans in my nose. :stare:

There's a tiny difference between Latin and Cyrillic.

I second that. Initially they thought it was the food that was causing the problem, didn't they? Later they found out that it was the pots etc. that was causing the problem.

Cheers :)
