719204 2008-11-10 08:28:00 Anybody have the above product he/she is willing to share with me?

I'm going to buy one if no one has a tube to share, and when I do buy one PM me to share the tube. One tube should allow up to 13 applications, so might as well share it rather than store it unused.

719205 2008-11-11 02:13:00 So nobody has one huh?

I've ordered mine, should come in by Friday. So PM me your address and I'll post it to you next week. Then hold on to it till I get another PM.

719206 2008-11-11 02:24:00 I was considering buying some for my stock heatsink - its it worth it? My CPU idles at about 55-60 degrees; would I get temperatures much lower than that with some Arctic silver? jwil1 (65)
719207 2008-11-11 02:28:00 It should give you a 2-5C reduction in temp after about 200 hours of what they call 'break-in' period. You'll have to to turn the PC off from time to time to allow the paste to cool to room temp during that 200 hours. qazwsxokmijn (102)
719208 2008-11-11 04:24:00 I've found it true what Arctic Silver says about that "break in" period. Runs about 5 degrees hotter for a couple of weeks, then drops considerably. Deane F (8204)

So it increased the temp for a while? How many hours approx did you leave the PC off do you think?

Well, I turn my computer off every night, so it would have had plenty of opportunity of opportunity for cool down periods.

After just a day I see that my idle temp has gone down to 28 with ambient temp of 25. I do have Arctic Freezer 7 Pro on it, but I don't know if an overclocked E6750 can keep that cool.

I have stock cooling on an E6750 clocked to 3.2 GHz - sits around 41 under load - gets up to about 48 on Orthos Prime. Never been a problem. The sensors are digital on the Core 2 Duos and are placed differently in the die than has been usual for CPUs so they tend to read as running quite cool - I think a true temp is around what the CPU is telling you plus 15 degrees C.
