| 832721 | 2009-11-23 08:02:00 | Anyone out there done this and have recommendations for a simple piece of software that will do this? Or warnings on the other hand of software to steer clear of? Google presents me with a large number of options to say the least:waughh: This is going to be a one off, so would prefer free/ trial software I have a video file in mp4 format, which I can play OK in VLC media player, but not in Windows Media Player. If it was for my own viewing that'd be fine, but this vid needs to be put on a website where everyone can get at it and play it, including people on locked down corporate boxes, so I want people to be able to play it on pretty much any fresh out of the box Windows machine, without having to download codecs or alternative players etc Regards Peter |

| 832726 | 2009-11-24 07:41:00 | Try one of these (www.smallvideosoft.com). WMP cant play MP4 (unless youre using Windows 7).. However there is a registry hack you can use along with Haali splitter and ffdshow. That will let you play MP4 (well in WMP 11 anyway, I've tried it) | Speedy Gonzales (78) | ||
