721189 2008-11-18 06:33:00 To coin a phrase .
I woke up this morning with a clear recollection of a miracle from the National Party .

Winston Peters will be Minister Outside Cabinet for Senior Citizens .

Pension will go up 20% .

Income Tax will drop 10% for everybody .

No GST on Food .

Free off peak travel for OAPs .

20% off Air fares . (All MPs will give up their Free Air Travel to achieve this)

It will not rain between the hours of 7am to 10pm . Except over the Hydro catchment areas where it will rain most of the time)

Gas & Electricity prices will fall by 20% for all .

MP numbers will drop to 80 .

Sick Bay/Hospitals like that on Starship Enterprise will be located in all main centres .

PJ . .

Dont know what I was drinking before I went to bed . . but . . by gum it was reight powerful !!! PJ

That eighty MP's sounds idyllic as a prelude to culling them a bit ;)

721191 2008-11-21 22:21:00 PART 2.

All politicians unanimously decided to forgo their pay rise to show how genuine they are in this economic bad time. PJ :illogical:angry

721192 2008-11-21 22:31:00 Unfortunately, the money they give to charity comes out of our collective taxes just as brutally as the money they spend on electoral advertising spam. R2x1 (4628)
721193 2008-11-21 23:18:00 Sorry Poppa,

But your requests are typical of Winnie's mob. All for them.

Only one of your requests will do anything to increase New Zealand's wealth and productivity which is what we need so that we can buy PC's and large screens and pay for health care etc etc.

721194 2008-11-21 23:25:00 Digby...I was NOT serious in Part 1. But was in Part 2. PJ Poppa John (284)
721195 2008-11-22 00:30:00 I spent a few days in Auckland last week and it was nice to travel around on the buses and ferries for free. We don't have any buses to travel on where I live but it was a bit disconcerting that the drivers were pressing the senior button before I got to them - Oh the ravages of age Dally (6292)
721196 2008-11-22 02:08:00 The goldcard is great on the bus, but the magic is completely gone when you try it at the casino. Gets you out quick though. ;) R2x1 (4628)
