| 834480 | 2009-11-29 04:38:00 | Just installed it on a spare drive to have a Play on a workshop PC. Highlights of Linux Mint 8: · Based on Ubuntu 9.10; · Linux kernel 2.6.31; · EXT4 filesystem; · X.Org 7.4; · GNOME 2.28.1; · Improvements to the Menu; · Improvements to the software manager; · Improvements to the update manager; · New Upload manager tool; · Lots of bugs fixed. Highlighted in the quote --- Have they what  I installed Ubuntu 9.10 when it came out -- What a heap of crap - half the functions wouldn't work, or were as buggy as hell - even the Live CD Version of Mint shares easily, unlike ubuntu, even though mint is based on Ubuntu. |

| 834481 | 2009-11-29 09:34:00 | Awesome stuff, off to download it now. Might wipe over my Mint 7 install on my work laptop, rather than doing an in-place upgrade. Keen to install on Ext4 :) Looking at "Whats new", they appear to have been busy: www.linuxmint.com |

| 834485 | 2009-11-29 11:26:00 | Yea it fits on a CD but I don't have any blank ones atm. Only DVDs. And as you stated the blank DVDs are elsewhere so no ISO or whatever. If you downloaded an ISO you could mount it and have a look but if you were to install you would regret the decision. |
