834496 2009-11-28 19:21:00 Hi,

My friend has a Dell Studio latop and when she restarted her PC normally (no errors before hand), it bluescreen's during loading windows.

She's running Vista Home 32bit.

Under safemode it hangs at crcdisk.sys then reboots.

Any ideas?

Thanks

834498 2009-11-28 19:27:00 Doesn't say - it just flashes then reboots. music_man (5482)
834499 2009-11-28 19:30:00 Get your camera ready, and boot it up and take a pic. xyz823 (13649)
834500 2009-11-28 19:35:00 My reflexes aren't good enough to capture a screen that lasts a millisecond, sorry. music_man (5482)
834501 2009-11-28 19:42:00 Reboot, tap F8 as soon as Windows starts loading then select disable auto restart then it should stop at the blue-screen.
So then post the error here so one of the more knowledgeable folks can diagnose your
problem.

834502 2009-11-28 19:58:00 I can't find that setting on "Phoenix Bios Setup Utility".

At the moment "QuickBoot Mode" is enabled - "Allows the system to skip certain tests while booting. This will decrease the time needed to boot the system".

834503 2009-11-28 20:21:00 No, not the BIOS which is where you have gone,
you need to tap F8 as Windows first begins to load to access the Windows advanced
boot menu, it includes Safe mode etc as well as disable auto restart!

834504 2009-11-28 20:30:00 Thanks for that. The bluescreen says:

"UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME"
