| 834465 | 2009-11-28 19:09:00 | A friend has a laptop with a C: of 30gb. It tells me it has 500mb free, however I can only find 21gb of files on the drive (even after showing hidden and system files etc.) Any ideas where the extra space might have gone? Thanks, Mike. |

Imight try turning it off and seeing if that makes any difference. Mike. |

| 834470 | 2009-11-28 19:54:00 | There could be a hidden restore partition. It does, but that wouldn't make any difference. Windows reports C: as being 30gb in size, so a hidden partition wouldn't be counted in that anyway. Cheers, Mike. |

What version of windows is on it?But if I show all files (system & hidden), and select all files/folders from C: and go properties, that should show up shouldn't it? When I do this I'm told there's 21gb of files/folders selected, however there's only 500mb free space  XP Home (I think it's Home...) Mike. |
