| 721158 | 2008-11-18 08:26:00 | While I am not trying to justify anything that these people have done - it was nothing less than brutal - I don't think that anyone can truly understand the frustrations one puts up with bringing up children until you have brought up children of your own. I can understand how you can be that frustrated that you take it out on the one seemingly causing your frustration. I can understand it. It is so hard when children do all they can to wear you down - and they do. Smack them, yes. And you do so, often harder than you should have, but on the bum, nowhere else. Smacking a child around the head is bad enough but there is no excuse for kicking them on the head or anywhere on their bodies. That type of behaviour can only be premeditated. I smacked both my children and they don't appear to have suffered at all, but the punishment we found most effective was to take away privileges. When adults, both my children agreed that they preferred a smack on the bum to the removal of privileges as the former hurt but was not long lasting whereas the latter could last for days. The trouble with even a 30 year sentence for these animals is that they will possibly only serve 10. What type of justice is that? 30 years should mean 30 years! Mate, this has nothing to do with stress or smacking IMO......just poorly raised youth and wickness with no regard for anyone but themselves. |

Let me know if I got any of that wrong, although I'm sure you will. Anyway, well done picking one that's sure to polarise the whole bunch of us nicely. Although this bleeding heart liberal wants them all put down. Like you'd do to an uncontrollable animal. My Fathers' partner said she has something like five kids... I wonder what the rest are like? |

I agree Rob. Sad to say there are too many low life's like this in our community. With our slack justice system they will probably get off with the Chocolate Fish and free petrol as R2x1 suggested. SolMiester you should have added Life to your Poll as 30 years for this kind of behavior is just not enough IMHO. |

| 721165 | 2008-11-18 23:05:00 | It said this am on National Radio that the two guys who were convicted of murder didn't seem to understand how they could have been convicted, and they were reluctant to leave the Court. Apparently their legs buckled and they had to be held up by the Corrections staff. Certainly on TV coverage I wondered more than once whether they had the requisite number of leetle grey cells. No excuse I know, but it does make you wonder whether there is more to come out about those two. |

| 721167 | 2008-11-18 23:26:00 | So i just had a case where a girl whos like 12 at the time went into my room and stole a mobile The court didnt put down a reperation order for the girl to pay me back the amount of the mobile as she was too young So i lost the mobile and im not getting my money back. Uhh. this is so unfair |
