The modem is possibly half the issue, see here under the TG585:

834267 2009-11-30 06:34:00 Well look at that, your down speed is 17kbps ... That explains a bit ;)

Pop the new modem in and post back with that information from the new router :) Use the new filter too if you can. Your SNR is fine, attenuation is decent, so your line seems OK

I think you should try a different modem ... ;)

Can you recommend me a good modem/wireless router for under $150

edit:
Is this a modem/router combo?

Linksys Wireless-G Broadband WRT54GL

No, those Thomsons have the comma and dot reversed - it's 17Mb/s and the attenuation is 2.5/6.5 dB

So its not the modem then? I'll try new filters and see what happen

834273 2009-11-30 17:23:00 Personally I'd avoid all of those:
chillingsilence.wordpress.com

However before we run out and get you a modem, do a few more tests, as decibel says (Now that I re-read that thread) your line quality definitely seems good.

In terms of the modem, what happens if you stand it up no its side?

Also, what speeds do you get when you download the Warcraft 3 patch from my server mentioned ^^^?

Can you grab WinMTR_bin from: http://winmtr.sourceforge.net/
Open it up, type in trademe.co.nz and let it run 100x
Then, copy the TEXT results to clipboard and paste then into pastie.org
Then post the pastie link here (It's just that pastie keeps the formatting making it easier to see)
