I think that you find that Sony have Jacked the price of these sets by about $400 to cover the inclusion of the PS3 si in reality your paying $500 for the PS3. This is definatly the case with new 46" sets..
Yes I think you are right. Normally this isn't legal practise, but they have also released new versions at the same time, I think they can get away with it. The 40 inch W series was $2999 last month, and the new version of the 40 inch W series is $3499 where you can pay an extra $100 for the PS3. Effectively you are paying $500-600 for the PS3, and you are also less likely to get a discount on the TV price, as the retailer will say that you are already getting a discount with the PS3. I wouldn't buy it for this very reason. They will drop in price after xmas, pre xmas is not usally the best time to buy. |
