720561 2008-11-17 00:09:00 I said I was testing one Roscoe, I don't need one. :p

If I went overseas that would be right up on the list of things to get, but I've never been lost in NZ yet, the AA road atlas is good enough, and a damn sight cheaper than a GPS. I reckon Dunedin is worse to get around than Auckland, or at least easier to get lost. I have no worries finding my way around Auckland, and considering I wasn't old enough to drive (4) when we lived there it's hardly cause I remember the roads!

Sorry about that . Sounded the same .

I'm not certain that you need a GPS overseas, either . In my limited experience of navigating in France and Germany, the main problem was not navigation but reading the French and German signs, but most signs tell you the direction in which you are headed (north, south, etc) and the route numbers are easily recognisable .

Travelling in UK is helped enormously by the good signs . Can't understand how anyone could get lost - it's more the lousy weather that you have to contend with!

Besides, SWMBO is a good navigator . How many GPS units have interesting conversation, a good looking body and sexy legs?:clap

For me it would be peace of mind on the motorways, knowing which exit to take, etc etc, ecpecially if it was in the states, finding you need to cross 6 lanes of freeway in rush hour traffic to get to your exit would be concerning. :)

You can get voice packs for some GPSs. Look for one done by Billie Piper or, if you like the American Accent, Hayden Panettiere would do great.

As for the body and legs, stop at the nearest store and pick up some gentleman's literature, tape it to the passenger door. All set! :banana

Absolutely nothing takes the place of the real thing. And because she is so good, I have to reach over every so often just to check that those sexy legs are real. You can't obtain that sort of satisfaction from GPS or a naughty magazine.:clap

When I was travelling in central Europe a couple of years ago, I should have taken a GPS.

Physical maps are good, but summer is when all the roadworks are carried out (for obvious reasons!), so there are lots of detours. A GPS would have allowed me to keep driving and eventually get to my destination(s) by a process of elimination as we passed potential turning points...

As it was we often had to stop, check the map, get out and wander around for a bit to get our bearings and then get back in and drive. Then repeat as necessary.

I won't be going back without a GPS!!
