834507 2009-11-28 20:39:00 Looks like it may have something to do with SATA. / SATA drivers. They're not installed properly. If AHCI is enabled in the BIOS disable it for now. See what happens. Thats if the hdd is SATA. Unless the hdd in it is something like this (support.microsoft.com) and its installing the wrong SATA drivers, which is incompatible with Vista. Or this (support.microsoft.com). Or this (support.microsoft.com). Speedy Gonzales (78)

I'm gonna have to ring Dell. I ran the test that comes with the computer and I got this:

Error Code 0142
Msg: Error Code 2000-0142
Msg: Hard Drive 0 - self test unsuccessful. Status: 29
