2009-11-28 09:53:00 | I've been using my PC for over a year and all of a sudden the GPU is acting up. It is not the monitor because other devices using it work perfectly. It seems to be acting like a TV with bad reception and every few seconds parts of the screen flash black for a split second. Its a 2.93 Core 2 Duo 4GB 1066MHz 8600GT Samsung 206BW Monitor 430W PSU.

2009-11-28 18:58:00 | Hi It's running Windows Vista Ultimate 32bit as well as Win 7 RC and Ubuntu 9.10. At the moment it is fine but it happened while playing a game which I have played before with no graphic problems.

2009-11-28 23:14:00 | Check the working temp as well. My 8600GT periodically clogs up with dust and lint. It's a silent fanless model though and needs plenty of draw from the case fans to get reasonble cooling. Still, strange things can happen when excessive heat comes into the equation. | Tbird650 (6754) | |
2009-11-28 23:40:00 | This sounds like the same prob (forums.nvidia.com). Make sure the card is in properly. If that doesnt fix it, the card maybe faulty. It may also be the mobo itself. Whats the brand/model of the mobo? | Speedy Gonzales (78) | |
2009-11-29 00:37:00 | Ok I got the latest driver for the 8000 Series and have run the same game and it seems to be fine. It's a fan 8600GT so I'll have to check it for dust but it could of been a heat problem and the card is in properly as I have used it for well over a year with no problems. Thanks for your help
