2008-11-24 20:28:00 | Hi guys In a similar vein to the HTS post of Roscoe - I do enjoy playing Command & Conquer on my PC - just to relax after work and if SWMBO has no work lined up (or wants to HTS). I have the latest C&C, but I'm getting a bit bored with it. Tried SimCity Societies but can't get into it - it's a bit different from previous versions. Looked at Children of the Nile but I dislike the uncontrollability of it all. Now looking at perhaps Caesar 4. As you can gather, I don't like the FPS kind of stuff. Any other suggestions for similar strategy games like the ones I mentioned.? sarel

2008-11-24 20:59:00 | World in Conflict is good. Fallout 3 is an RPG/FPS thing, but it's AMAZING! I mostly play TF2 these days, but still enjoy the :Total War series too, I play Rome and Medieval 2, worth a shot if you haven't tried them yet. Also, just got AOE3 again, which is awesome on LAN. I like verbally abusing my flatmate through the wall when I beat him...

2008-11-24 21:24:00 | Age of Mythology is quite fun. (And cheap) Should find it for $20.00. I picked up a copy of Titan Quest from the Warehouse for $17.00 the other week.

2008-11-24 22:10:00 | Have tried Civ but hate the turn-based games. Will try some of the other suggestions. They all look the same, though - "Age of ....", ".... Quest". World in Conflict - never heard of it. AO3 - hmmm, will have to check it out. Anything else out there? sarel

2008-11-24 22:13:00 | Spore. You may like it, the creature creator alone looks like good fun. Do you like RPG's? Ever thought of getting into them? Mass Effect and Fallout 3 are really good. Mass Effect is a bit too obviously ported from Xbox for my likings though.

2008-11-24 22:46:00 | I always find myself going back to AoE2 - it was, and remains, a great game, but having problems with LAN play with my Vista laptop. The demo of AoE3 seems pretty comparable (i.e to one of the best games EVER, IMHO), so I really must get around to getting a copy... | MushHead (10626) | |
2008-11-25 04:10:00 | Company of Heroes, $20 from most stores, got mine from DSE. It has the Metla approval for kicking arse.
