721981 2008-11-22 08:11:00 What experiences have readers here had with this Company?

Good or bad?

721982 2008-11-22 09:07:00 I'm with movieshack, got an email last week to say movieshack, fatso.co.nz and dvd unlimited are merging / have merged. pine-o-cleen (2955)
721983 2008-11-22 09:50:00 As pine-o-cleen said, we are with dvd unlimited & both dvd unlimited and movieshack are merging with fatso.

I think movieshack are currently merging with fatso at the moment and in two weeks it will be dvd unlimited.

If you’re thinking about joining fatso, I would wait another few weeks till the dust settles from the merging of these two companies’, as I think it will take a couple of weeks to sort out all the bugs/issues

Hope this helps :)

721984 2008-11-22 17:57:00 I'm with Movie Shack and am pleased with their service.

It will be interesting to see how the merger goes.

721985 2008-11-22 18:24:00 I've tried them all and living in Christchurch was a pain, They were always slow to be received, which made them about the same price as renting locally.
It would take over 2 months to get a new release, I suspect because the local users wher being serviced first for the quicker turn-round.

Then you get a poor quality disk there is no compensation - my local Vid Shop will get you have another for free, I got nothing from the postal rental companies.

The only advantage I found was the range was greater than the local video shop, some of the older or unusual videos were available.

721987 2008-11-23 03:32:00 Thanks for the feed back.

I tried out their recently advertised 2-week free trial, but cancelled it today for two reasons:

1. Not being able to get the first disc of a 6 disc series because it was flagged "low", was a real piss off.

2. I returned one disc as faulty but never received any notification of a replacement having or going to be issued.

Customer satisfacation should be their number 1 priority - sadly, it is lacking.

:(

721988 2008-11-23 03:44:00 I would give them another try after the merger. stu161204 (123)
721989 2008-11-23 17:42:00 Yes this faulty disk is a major thing.

I find that about 1 in ten disks is faulty and you get no compensation, whereas the video shops will give you another copy of the video (if they have one)

721990 2008-11-23 17:43:00 Yes to make these services cost effective, you need to turn the videos round quickly. Movieshack for me here in Tauranga has been quite good in that respect.

I hope the new guys keep it up.
