721752 2008-11-21 06:14:00 Am looking for a 2.1 speaker system for the PC.
Want something that can output with good/great amounts of volume, but won't cost an arm and a leg.

Ideas for what I should be looking at (brand - model)

Thanks

721755 2008-11-21 07:38:00 I have these from Computer Lounge. Sound great. Had them for over 4 years.
They make high end Audiophile speakers as well.

Might be more than you wanted to spend but you can pick up a set for a lot less than the retail price.
Customers like them because they go really well plus they have the extra connection so it is easy to connect an MP3 player.

Ignore this bit

"However I wouldn't recommend them for use as computer speakers as you really need to be at least 1-1.5m back to appreciate the full range of sound. Up close you tend to miss a lot of the low and some of the mid range."

I've found that they just needed to be a tad further back (= more than 2 feet from you).
