835479 2009-12-01 02:52:00 Hello all again.

I currently have BitDefender installed. Have been using it for quite some time now, but it just doesn't seem to do it's job that well anymore. So I've been searching around for a new product.

After alot of Google'ing (?) I've came up with a few options and just wanted to know your opinions on them.

NOD32
Microsoft Security Essentials
And Kapersky.

I just wanted to know, what would be the best one, doesn't slow my computer down, etc, etc.

I also found NoScript for Firefox, which seems very helpful and SpyWare Doctor.

I play online games, and my account was recently hacked. So I've decided to buff up my security. I'm willing to pay for the products as well, because the Paid versions are usually better than the free ones.

So basically my final questions are, What Anti Virus, and is SpyWare Doctor worth buying?

Thank you in advance.

835482 2009-12-01 03:30:00 IMO the three you have listed are the best on the market in this order...

1 - NOD32
2 - MSSE
3 - Kaspersky

I don't think you can go too far wrong tbh. :)

835483 2009-12-01 03:32:00 Ok. Thanks, but how much better is NOD32 than MSSE, because if I don't have to pay, I'd rather not :P Mister (15201)
835484 2009-12-01 03:42:00 That depends if you want a firewall as well. MSE doesnt inc a firewall Speedy Gonzales (78)

A lot better. Wainuitech did a test and posted results here a while ago.

It's cheap, renewal each year is cheaper then than initial buy too.

Your choice should be dictated by your web behaviour; if you insist on visiting risky sites, using P2P and torrents, and opening random e-mail attachments, you'll almost certainly need the best, which is currently NOD32. I'd also highly recommend a firewall, and a malware app with real-time protection like Spyware Terminator which is free.

Horses for courses really.
