835029 2009-11-30 08:25:00 In the December mag there is an article in the New & Improved section on page 27 about the NIS 2010. In the bottom line on page 28 Preston mentions that is you have the NIS 2009 version there is a free upgrade to the 2010 version. I'd like to know how I get the (free) upgrade. Any suggestions

Cheers

Archie

Having said so, go with GameJunkie's advice :)

The 2010 ver is reported as being a LOT better from a system loading point of view.

You certainly couldn't be worse off overwriting Nortons 2009!!

!

Yes. But its ability to detect viruses is complete ****.
Don't bother, it's about as good as having no AV at all.
Use NOD32.

Archie - take pctek's advice and FORGET about Norton - it is probably the worst 'security' program you can put on your pc. Don't be duped by Norton marketing. Even if it did have a good detection rate, it is still well known to screw up OS's. Don't be duped by Norton marketing.

835036 2009-11-30 22:13:00 Norton spends most of it's dosh in advertising so peeps think it's the best.

'Everybody knows Norton, it must be good!'

NAY NAY! If they spent more of that money hiring better staff to make a better product, then they wouldn't have as many problems as they do.

I had a client just recently with Vista 1.5GhZ & 1G of RAM & Norton 2010. LOL FAIL!

Vista takes up 500mb altogether, even with a clean installation. Norton took up another 300 and kept blocking crap. Slow as start up even with tweaks. Took Norton off, put on MSE it was sweet as sugar.
