| 722701 | 2008-12-01 04:30:00 | There must have been a reason coil even one from the prince of darkness would last 6000 miles . I had a 59 Series 2 Oxbox with same 1622 as S5 it had original . I have seen vintage cars from the 20s and millions of miles on the odo with original coil . It could have been a condenser problem or position of the coil, clever people used to reposition the coil so that it never faced down . Reason oil from inside coil if hot would find its way around seal on screw on HT output and make a bad connection Nah, if you hit a bump and the oil fell out of the coil, it would cease functioning jolly quick . Wanna talk about Zener diodes as voltage regulators? How about Bombay Taxi horns on BSA 441 Victors because a squeeze bulb horn required NO electricity . . which made the "dynamo" very happy since it's job was to singularly destroy the tail and head lamp bulbs at will and couldn't be bothered with side work . Tell me the truth: Is the WHOLE UK just a series of cottage industries? |
