835401 2010-06-09 07:38:00 If you install Microsoft Security Essentials and later uninstall it you will not be able to restart Security Center and Microsoft will NOT be able to help you. If you contact Security Essentials help they will tell you its a Vista problem and when you contact Vista help they will tell you its a Microsoft Security Essentials problem. All I know is its a MICROSOFT problem with no help from any of them.

Is this by your experience? If not then source would be helpful perhaps.

835402 2010-06-09 08:43:00 My trial XP comp has had MSE installed and uninstalled at least 5 times this month without any need to talk to MS. I have been trying other software trying to trace a random fault which turned out to be the PSU and not MSE gary67 (56)

I was wondering if it was a Vista issue with MSE. I don't use Vista and neither does anyone I know.

835407 2010-07-14 04:33:00 I noticed it let "AV Security Suite" through. Had to use Malwarebytes to remove it. KiwiTT_NZ (233)
835408 2010-07-14 04:47:00 Someone probably installed it. Not all (probably none of the) AV programs can stop someone from installing rogue software. And I doubt any would stop them from installing / running. Since, they're probably not classed as viruses / trojans Speedy Gonzales (78)

They are, and should be picked up by the antivirus (if it's any good)
