835381 2010-05-27 10:09:00 windows xp 64bit can only emulate 64bit. it aint proper 64 bit like windows 7.

And where did you hear that? If it's not 64 bit, it wouldnt say it. It does exactly what any other version of 64 bit windows can do. But, there's a lack of drivers for some devices. Which is why its not a good idea to install it. Its pretty much obsolete

835382 2010-05-27 10:14:00 Well its installing, can I expect problems or not? Danger (287)
835383 2010-05-27 10:35:00 Soon find out, altho if you installed 32 bit, 64 bit may have been better, if youre using 64 bit Speedy Gonzales (78)
835384 2010-05-27 10:45:00 But thats just it there is no 64 bit XP download.

Anyway its installed and currently scanning.

835386 2010-05-27 11:00:00 glad to know it works goodiesguy (15316)
835387 2010-05-27 11:52:00 If it turns out not to work I suggest you try Comodo Agent_24 (57)
835388 2010-05-27 12:00:00 you could always go back to avast aswell. avast is fine on 32 bit. im unsure of 64 bit though. anyways spybot is also good and malwarebytes antimalware. keep away from nortons, it'll damage your computer goodiesguy (15316)
835389 2010-05-27 19:44:00 Spybot and malwarebytes are Not anti virus programs they are only anti malware. Having a 64bit processor doesn't mean you have a 64bit operating system, it just means you could run 64bit. If it's working fine Danger that's all good and I am guessing you have XP pro 32bit.

Oh and XP 64 bit is a true 64bit operating system it is not just an emulation

835390 2010-06-08 07:01:00 x2, AVG is not good at all anymore.

*I know, MS actually making a decent AV software, pigs will be flying next!*

I think AVG is very effective.
