2010-05-12 05:35:00 | i will MSE and avast run along side each other? Should but its not a good idea to run 2 AV programs, on the same system (at the same time)

2010-05-18 16:02:00 | I don't like any programmes I install to do automatic updates. Can auto updating in MSSEs be turned off so that I can do them when I want to? | HHGTTG (15480) | |
2010-05-18 19:18:00 | Just had a quick look and I don't think you can, this is one piece of software that needs to update itself if you want to stay protected, otherwise you are wasting your time having it | gary67 (56) | |
2010-05-19 00:24:00 | x2 what Gary67 said. What's the point in having an Antivirus if you don't want it updated as soon as possible?

2010-05-19 10:22:00 | x2 what Gary67 said. What's the point in having an Antivirus if you don't want it updated as soon as possible? Of course I want it updated as soon as it has been installed but I am still on dial-up and constant updating in the background slows surfing down and is a pain in the proverbial. I'd like to select to manual update every few days or so - it's quite reasonable, I think.

2010-05-19 12:09:00 | Fair enough if you're on Dialup, but an Antivirus with several day old definitions isn't going to be useful against new threats | Agent_24 (57) | |
2010-05-27 09:41:00 | Hi I have Windows XP Professional (bought the PC of my wifes business) and I don't think MSE works with this version. Any suggestions? Avast started to hog the CPU so I thought I would look for something new although reinstalling Avast might solve the problem? Cheers. | Danger (287) | |
