835333 2010-02-16 08:37:00 Have been using MSE for a month or so and am very happy with it. But now I want to use it within a network situation and can't get it to update. Any suggestions?? candj (12368)
835334 2010-02-16 08:46:00 It'll be firewall or proxy blocking it probably. Works fine on even machines joined to a domain, just not on the server-series of Windows. Chilling_Silence (9)
835335 2010-03-17 03:47:00 And I still won't - I'll stick with AvastI have returned to AVAST again ... now version 5.

I like the feeling of extra protection it gives. i.e. IM filter, web filter, net filter, email filter, etc. all as sperate processes. MSE may do this, but you have no obvious visibility that it is doing it.

835337 2010-03-21 00:47:00  I would never take the risk of trusting Avast!

If you don't trust Microsoft, why are you using Windows?

The IM filter function on avast antivirus has never stopped a virus-loaded MSN message from passing through. So... how am I supposed to know the feature is working? (unless you go by a different definition of "feature") :p

Web filter, net filter, e-mail filter? That should be entrusted to your computer firewall, shouldn't it?

Most people never trusted Microsoft anti anything, but they still used Windows in their millions.

I will stick with Avast.

835340 2010-03-21 05:38:00 Something I have found out this week because I have MS updates set to notify me but not download them it is affecting my MSCE as well on the XP machines it still updates itself automatically but on this Win7 machine I have to tell it to do it manually, it notifies me everyday only. Anyone else having this problem gary67 (56)
