never had a prob with avg free, may wait until windows antivirus is more stable (and stops peeps wanting to upgrade).
sorta makes me wonder why didnt they intergrate this into windows anyway and update via windows update. for a more secure OS. |

Some sites say to lower the CPU usage for MSE, right mouse on MsMpEng.exe, and msseces.exe in task manager. Change the priority to below normal. Then it MAY not hog the CPU. It looks like a beta for the update is out, BUT you may not get it / be notified, unless you were one of the beta testers |

I use mse because it shuts up and leaves me alone. The Avast popups kept chucking me out of games |

I downloaded the new version of Avast and it has a Silent Gaming Mode option - right click of the spinning icon. Haven't tried it yet but I hope that's what we need to stop it interfering with games. |
