How true. I park in a supermarket carpark for work which is shared by other buisiness. After getting a few dings and scratches etc, I have found a least used part of the carpark to park my car.

723196 2008-11-26 19:50:00 I read that yesterday and agree totally with it.

Theres also the matter of lazy carless people, just cause you have a **** car and you don't mind having dents and chipped paint, fine, but that doesn't mean we want dents in our car aswell.

I can gaurntee if I park my car in a supermarket carpark for half an hour and come back, there will be at least one new scratch or dent caused by someone carlessly openng their door, or letting a trolley roll away.

It really annoys me, I'd never do that to anyone and if I saw some one who'd opened their door carlessly, or rolled a trolley into my car they would wish they'd stayed at home that day.

723199 2008-11-26 21:11:00 Park your $1000 heap of junk between the two most expensive cars you can find, they are not going to damage you anymore than your already damaged.

Worst I have ever seen in a carpark was an asian bloke parking at St Lukes. He was on too much of an angle trying to get into a park, but at least he was persistent. He had been trying to get into the park for some time and in the few minutes I was walking past was still trying.

He was curving in to his left and had ripped a huge hold in the door of the car on his right and the back end of the one on the left with the bumper laying on the ground. He continued going back and forth doing more damage in each movement.

When we came out he was gone and a two truck was taking away one of the cars he had damaged.

Several people standing about but nobody stopping him, everyone just watched with disbelief.

723201 2008-11-26 22:52:00 1998 K mart carpark Henderson. My 2 day old Kia Sportage while I was sitting in car waiting for wife around 200 kilometres on the clock a chick opens the door of her Jap car into passenger doors of mine leaving a small dent.
The Asian lady originally tried to deny it even with a bit of her blue paint on my redcar.
I made such a scene about the damage calling in bystanders threatening to call Police etc she panicked and pulled out over $1000 in cash from her purse which I took.
Never did repair the dent

Most people don't carry cash though, which is annoying.

Well compared to auckland! When I was up for the foo fighters concert earlier in the year, I used the busses a bit (to get to the north shore where i was staying), and it was like being on holiday in Tokyo. It wasn't unusual to be the only kiwi on the bus.
