722392 2008-11-24 07:59:00 OK so what's the deal? Why do PC's slow down over time?

I've heard many people say things like "It's all that junk you download" or "You need more ram".

I need more ram? My PC ran just fine before, how can I need more? Junk? What is 'junk' exactly and how does that slow down m PC?

722393 2008-11-24 08:15:00 You have made over 1000 posts on here, so I think you should have learned something by now, about junk files, spyware and temp files, registry changes etc?

722395 2008-11-24 08:56:00 Registry, also the fact that a lot of people don't defrag and that can slow down file opening/searching etc. Bad drivers, software conflicts, bad installs, corrupted files... beeswax34 (63)

722398 2008-11-24 09:07:00 Takes bugger all to get about 90 percent of her speed back, shocking what crap people accumulate on their PC's to rob resources.

How many processes do you have running normally? (mine has 24 right at this moment)

How many services have been installed and are running continually for no reason?

:dogeye::dogeye::dogeye: LLOh for sure. I've been fed a lot of BS as well, so just trying to sort the crap from the truth. I've never had a satisfactory answer to this.

I just sorted through them, stopped and disabled a whole bunch, that brought my processes down to 43.
