834719 2009-11-29 21:40:00 Im sorry I haven't posted in a while, I've been working and just doing general stuff thats kept me away. Anyway now im back and I'll give you guys a update

Purchased Parts:
Case: Coolermaster cm-690 (FTW)
Motherboard: ASUS M4A77TD Pro ATX (comes tomorrow)
HDD: Seagate Barracude 1tb 7200.12 (Got it last Wednesday, I needed storage quick)

Pretty much I'm still at the beginning of my project, I had to buy a HDD last week quickly as i wanted to secure my data and also do a reformat. As it stands I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate. it's the first time I've ever used Windows 7 and I must say for the little time ive spent with windows vista, Windows 7 is everything its not. and better at anything it was.

Anyway I'm looking at getting a AMD Propus quad core (www.playtech.co.nz) next week, or the week after as I have a influx of cash coming...

Wish me luck, also any thoughtful hints tips and replacements would be appreciated. Criticism's are ok so-long are there criticism's and not thinly veiled flames.

834724 2009-12-01 01:17:00 Lucky my mobo (due in an hour) us AM3 DDR3 then ;) PCT Joe (15018)
834725 2009-12-01 05:50:00 Ok anyway, it took a lil longer than an hour... and i spent an hour just working on it o_O.
I had to snap off two pins on the faceplate because there were in the way of the gigalan :| , Apart from that I just had to figure out and read up on were I was putting this and/or that pin... After i'd finished it all I though it looked ugly and unorganized(IT DID!!!) so I took off the backplate of the case and tidy'ed it up... its coming out good now. I'll know tomorrow morning if I've gotten my holiday pay in which case I'll most likely order a Propus Quad, although the more I think about it the more I would prefer another type, 955 for instance...

Anyway. all went well and i must say that the coolermaster cm 690 is excellent for cable management... Its a bummer that the mobo has no 1394, but then again I would never use it...
