725235 2008-12-02 19:58:00 Hi everyone,

I'm having some frustrations with Vodafone. I moved house a little while ago and can no longer get any Vodafone coverage. I tried a friend's Telecom phone and it worked perfectly so two weeks ago I switched to Telecom and ported my prepay 021 number across.

A couple of days later I tried to log into Vmusic and it rejected my details. I have a handful of purchases which I should be able to re-download by logging in. I also have about $75 worth of credit on my account that I'd like to spend.

I immediately contacted Vodafone through its website, explained the problem and asked how to log in and spend my credit. After eleven days I finally received a one-line reply this morning, "When a Vodafone account has ported to another network all Vodafone services such as "Manage Your Account" are also cancelled."

That doesn't answer my question; it doesn't explain how to get at my credit and it appears that my account hasn't been reactivated either as I still can't log in. I'm also annoyed that Vodafone has cancelled all of my non-phone services without asking or even telling me.

What should I do next? I've already sent a reply asking that my account be reactivated but I'm not expecting a reply any time soon so I'll likely be calling Vodafone support. Does anybody have any tips?

Thanks for any suggestions.

Cheers :)

725237 2008-12-02 23:44:00 Somehow I dont think you have any options here if I understand this correctly. You were 021xxxxxxx Vodafone but you have ported to Telecom so now you are 021xxxxxxx Telecom with a Telecom handset. So how do you think you are able to sign into a Vodafone service when you are now a Telecom customer with Telecom handset. sam m (517)
725238 2008-12-02 23:54:00 Having had dealings with Vodafone here, Australia & Fiji I hold them as the most pig ignorant company I have ever encountered.

Good luck but I suspect you can kiss your credit good by. :groan:

725239 2008-12-03 00:03:00 Surely Vodafone can't just take my credit away without warning! Nermal (7077)

725242 2008-12-03 00:17:00 The very first thing I asked for (by going into the local Vodafone shop) was to buy a new SIM card with a new number and transfer my credit over to that (my intention being to use it for data, since Vodafone's $1 for 10 MB is cheaper than Telecom and I can still get Vodafone coverage when I'm in town). Apparently she couldn't do that in-store and said that I'd have to contact Vodafone proper. I went home and then discovered that my account no longer worked.

Does anything think that this option is still worth pursuing? If I can transfer the credit then presumably I'd then be able to log into the new account and download songs that way too, meaning that I'd still get full use of everything.

725243 2008-12-03 03:46:00 Vodafone's accounts department exists principally to make their other departments look good.
If their competition was anyone except Telecon, they would be gone by lunchtime.
Good luck, and I hope you manage to kill at least one windmill.
