| 724520 | 2008-12-01 03:03:00 | We are considering installing a tubular skylight, eg the Skytube and SolaBrite type of thing, to get some natural light into a rather dark small room. Does anyone here have one and if so, what brand? Are you happy with it? Do they have any drawbacks/negative aspects to them? |

| 724522 | 2008-12-01 03:25:00 | We had one installed in a particularly dark area of our last home. It was in the kitchen and made a huge difference. It was a good option to a skylight for us. Didn't need the cleaning a skylight would have, also cheaper. No leaking during heavy rainstorms; as I have seen happen with some skylights. Installation was well done. It's quite a few years since we left that house so I cannot remember which company, but I think it was Solatube. |

Yeah, they have one in the bathroom of a Picton cottage we stay at and it's brilliant. No idea what brand it is though or whether there are any drawbacks. Marnie, what side of the house was your kitchen on? |

| 724525 | 2008-12-02 18:32:00 | We have Solar Tubes fitted in both our bathrooms and they make a big difference..like having the light on all the time. You can have a light built into them and these have also got an extractor fan built in. | muzza (7316) | ||
