836963 2009-12-06 21:41:00 Hello All. In order to help solve a Skype problem, I would like to know the function of the left-hand slider control labelled Mic. This is on the Microsoft
Recording Control panel 5.1. The Pink i/p is low-level mic, the Blue is 600 ohm o/p, the Green is 600 i/p the Aux and Stereo are as stated so what does the
Mic at the left-hand side control ?

Rgds.

836969 2009-12-07 21:24:00 volume of mic maybe???... GameJunkie (72)
836970 2009-12-07 21:29:00 The slider simply controls the Sensitivity of the Mic, down the bottom and you may have to talk louder, move it up, and it will be more Sensitive .

IF its still not detecting loud enough when at the top, go to top left, click on Options/properties / in the properties box tick microphone , click OK, go back to Options, click on Advanced Controls, the microphone bar will now have an advanced button, click that, tick the box in the bottom left hand corner, that will increase the Sensitivity even more ( boost it) . Make sure its unticked where it says Mute .

Recording Control panel 5 . 1 . The Pink i/p is low-level mic, the Blue is 600 ohm o/p, the Green is 600 i/p the Aux and Stereo are as stated so what does the
Mic at the left-hand side control ? That looks like two different locations, the audio plugs on the back of the PC and the audio controls in windows .

836971 2009-12-07 23:07:00 Thank you gentlemen but none of the above answers the question. Unfortunately I don't see how to post graphics on here as I could otherwise put the Recording Control panel on to illustrate what I mean. Yes, of course that control sets the level of A mic but what mic?
The low level low impedance mic at the right (Pink) controls a typical Mic plugged into same and the Blue one adjusts the level of a 600 ohm audio input so we get back to the basic question .......... what mic plugged in where is controlled level-wise by the left hand control.

836972 2009-12-07 23:32:00 to post a screen shot, after taking the screen shot, go to www.imagef1.net.nz/ click on basic, then browse to your picture, select it, click upload file. You will then see an address in the box, In this box Here (http:) heres an Example (www.imagef1.net.nz)copy / paste that complete address back here in your reply.

The Mic Control (www.imagef1.net.nz) as high lighted, controls the Mic plugged into the pink socket on the back of the PC or laptop.
