Fine but I'd bump that card up as much as you can afford to.

836530 2009-12-10 05:12:00 I bought the above parts, excluding the graphics card.
Arrived today, put it together, put my old graphics card in (8600GTS)
And nothing happens, no POST. System Fans and CPU fan are running, Disk Drives opens/closes etc.
Only thing that happens is the D-RAM LED Stay on continuously Indicating something to do with the RAM.

Any Suggestions on how to fix??

Thanks in advance for your help!

836531 2009-12-10 05:17:00 wouldnt it be better to do dual/triple channel with the ram rather than one stick? GameJunkie (72)
836532 2009-12-10 05:18:00 Have Windows 7 32 Bit to install so having any more than 4 gigs is kinda pointless. josh2200 (6681)
836533 2009-12-10 20:51:00 Think ive found the problem:

Motherboard:

Memory
• 4 x DIMM, Max. 16 GB, DDR3 2200(O.C.)*/1600/1333/1066 Non-ECC,Un-buffered Memory
• Dual Channel memory architecture
• Supports Intel® Extreme Memory Profile (XMP)

Ram i bought:

Kingston ValueRAM KVR1066D3Q8R7S/4G, 1x4GB, DDR3-1066, DIMM, ECC, Registered, Thermal Sensor

Will that be the problem?

836534 2009-12-10 20:57:00 Looks like ECC will work on a non-ecc mobo. But, it may not work on all mobos. I would replace it with non-ecc ram Speedy Gonzales (78)
836535 2009-12-10 21:05:00 Looks excellent mate, a larger gfx card would be good if you can.

Edit - I should have read the whole thread through instead of just replying to the first post!

In theory the RAM will work - but it's probably the problem in this case. I would get 2x2GB rather than 1x 4GB

Anyone know if that GSkill stuff is any good? I've never used it myself.

836536 2009-12-10 21:14:00 The Graphics card on there sold out so have not ordered a new one yet.

So the RAM should work?

The thing is, its all together, and i put the 8600GTS in which is in this machine and it doesn't post, the D-RAM LED by the MemOK! Switch lights continuously indicating a problem...
