724241 2009-01-24 01:33:00 Further info on the cause of crash of this plane seems to have been caused by bad maintenance. This info is not concrete at the moment.

This reminds me of Alaska Airlines Flight 261 on the 31st of January 2000.

You are getting your crashes mucked up :(

The AA crash was caused by nothing like the Airbus crash.

Suggest you do some more research. I think you are looking for the crash where the pitot tubes were covered over.

724243 2009-01-24 01:44:00 No I'm not. It was caused due to bad or inadequate maintenance. Whether it was due to pitot tube or what ever, it still boils down to the same thing.

The subsequent investigation by the National Transportation Safety Board determined that inadequate maintenance led to excessive wear and catastrophic failure of a critical flight control system during flight. The probable cause was stated to be "a loss of airplane pitch control resulting from the in-flight failure of the horizontal stabilizer trim system jackscrew assembly's acme nut threads. The thread failure was caused by excessive wear resulting from Alaska Airlines's insufficient lubrication of the jackscrew assembly."[1]

724244 2009-01-24 02:03:00 What a ridiculous comparison.

That's like saying all car crashes are the same :(

It is not a ridiculous comparison. They were or are both caused through bad maintenance whatever the components are. Would be the same as if an engine fell of due to bad maintenace which I think has happened. The words here are BAD MAINTENANCE.
