| 724488 | 2008-12-01 18:21:00 | Having recently had an ambulance arrive in my driveway a very short time after being called, I naturally have a very favourable view of the rights of emergency vehicles to exceed the speed limit, with caution. If your house or business was on fire with somebody trapped inside you'd have a rapid change of perspective as well! In my (biased) opinion, the very small number of accidents that occur annually involving emergency vehicles suggests that compared to the lives and property saved by their prompt responses, we'd be a bunch of stupid grinches to suggest otherwise. If they are chasing someone then hell yes, put the boot down. Otherwise, cut the crap out, Half of them are speeding either due to giant ego or due to immaturity. |
