725084 2008-12-02 23:34:00 IQ tests are a great indicater of what they test for. Unfortunately they don't accurately test for intelligence.

I've got a quite high IQ result over the years, but man... I can be the most stupid being on the planet quite frequently.

725086 2008-12-03 01:22:00 My son scored relatively high on his I.Q and his percentile was rather high too but didn't really help him much. Too be honest though, until I had the test done and talked to a few "professionals" his demeanor socially, emotionally and physically was unexplainable to me and his teachers.

I do think that him having the tests, did make me more aware of what his needs were not only educationally but personally as well.

As a non brilliant mind myself, I do think that I.Qs are not a great indication of brilliance or at least I try to tell myself that everyday so as not to feel too humbled by the fact that my sons I.Q is extremely likely to be waaaaay higher than mine. ;)

725087 2008-12-03 01:48:00 I have done quite a few online IQ tests, in an attmept to see if they gave the same answers. Seems to be pretty similar, and I'm supposedly smarter than Helen Clark, which is comforting.

Don't really believe them though.

725088 2008-12-03 01:53:00 IQ tests are an indication of your learning. Not whether you are smart or not.

Academic ability and smarts are 2 different things. Take a look at the Dunedin students some time to see what I mean..........
