I used to think the music was really haunting as a kid for some reason, like something bad was happening.

Yep - you had to go to bed.

724425 2008-12-01 06:13:00 Thats bringing back some memories - hardly ever saw it, becasue I ws in bed at the time :sleep -- even the glass Milk Bottles --- put out at night ( like the GN kiwi) and you hear the click, clank of the milk man in the early hours of the morning doing his daily rounds.

Not like today - all cardboard and plastic.
The clink was the milk bottles, the clank was the night cart. Do not confuse the two lest you wind up in parliament.:yuck:

Yeah same .. For me, it was because I would be the only one up, that late at night, watching the telly ..... and you knew it was about to go quiet and dark ..... lol

Its like hearing an alarm clock go off during the day ... makes my heart thud with dread lol.

I miss glass milk bottles but I could never open the stupid things. :stare:

724430 2008-12-01 23:39:00 I have (had?) a kids' book somewhere with the goodnight kiwi and the cat. I recall the cat grabbing the kiwi's blanket and using it to parachute off the transmitter mast :) Nermal (7077)
724431 2008-12-02 10:04:00 Does anybody remember the TVNZ technical difficulties graphic with the kiwi holding a spanner?

Or the teletext with music on around 5:30am on weekend mornings?

I'm not old enough to remember it, but I'm sure some PF1-ers are :D

I certainly remember it and to my recollection it was not on TV One - I remember it being on TV Two, although it was called "Channel Two" at the time.
