836748 2009-12-05 22:22:00 What type of wireless connection is it - meaning, built into the laptop, USB wireless adaptor or a PCMCIA card ??

IF the wireless connection is greyed out that usually means its possibly dropped the drivers.

You can ty going into device manager, right click my computer / properties/ Hardware tab / device manager - then under network adapters, remove the wirelesss connection, reboot -- It "SHOULD" pick it back up and prob ask for the drivers as well.

Ether that or try running system restore back to yesterday when it was going OK.

Edited: I have to go out so someone else may be able to help if the above doesn't work.

836749 2009-12-06 00:58:00 Its built into laptop. I tried uninstalling the wireless connection from device manager but still gives the same error. Also tried system restore but that doesnt work either... JOYBEBA6679 (10686)
836750 2009-12-06 01:02:00 What sort of firewall does the XP laptop have.

Under the wireless connections / properties , Internet Protocol V4 is it set to auto detect or have you put in a static IP address ?
