836006 2009-12-03 00:29:00 Well, neither Linksys or PB Tech will switch the WAG160n for anything else, they will only replace it with another 160n. :badpc:

Chill, do I remember you saying you'd been able to 'exchange' a couple of 160n's for that netcomm router? When I spoke to them PB were adamant that there were no issues with the 160N models and they couldn't give me store credit for it because it is still a current model. :sleep

836007 2009-12-03 02:50:00 if its not "fit for purpose" your covered under the consumer guarantees so talk to PB's store manager and demand a refund (you have the right) otherwise take them to small claims if you must doesn't cost much and you will likely win (doubtful they will show). Is there anything beginning with WAG by Linksys that is good? cant think of one! razzarphenix (2626)
836008 2009-12-03 03:34:00 If its faulty, they are only required to replace it. plod (107)

Once or twice then you can demand a refund.

836010 2009-12-03 03:59:00 I thought it only had a one year warranty - now I see it has a 2 year. Much better. wratterus (105)

Depends on the "fault" if you know the replacement one is going to do the same thing, you can try the "not fit for purpose" argument. Think of a router that advertises it supports QoS and when you enable QoS the router crashes under load that would be something you could get refunded for.

836012 2009-12-03 17:12:00 I can't remember who we spoke with, I'll try and find a notepad file on my work laptop later today with the details ... I do remember they weren't happy about it at first :p Chilling_Silence (9)
836013 2009-12-03 19:58:00 :p Thanks Chill. I've gone ahead and bought the netcomm anyway, might flick the 160 off on TM when I get it back if anyone is foolish enough to buy it. wratterus (105)
836014 2009-12-03 20:38:00 Apparently you need to go to Linksys first to get an RA # from them, then take that back to PBTech (I only did the first part of contacting PBTech, I've had one of the other guys do the last part of the return). Chilling_Silence (9)
836015 2009-12-03 20:45:00 Ahh, ok. I got a case number from Linksys not actually a RA number. Will go through their website and try that. wratterus (105)
