726129 2008-12-05 23:14:00 At work, listening to the radio, heard the above song.

I've heard it a few times before but have been sufficently occupied to not notice the lyrics in the chorus.

Are we human?
Or are we dancer?
My sign is vital
My hands are cold
And I'm on my knees
Looking for the answer
Are we human?
Or are we dancer?

What the hell? Anyone have any idea either what he's on about, or failing that, what he's smoking cause I want some of it. :D

Are we human, or are we dancer. Or is it denser? Or dancers? Normally song lyrics have some kind of meaning. :p

I suppose it would make some sense if it was denser. But it doesn't sound like it. I'm sure someone has had a revelation and figured out what it means! :p

726131 2008-12-06 00:08:00 The lyric's

Human Lyrics

I did my best to notice
When the call came down the line
Up to the platform of surrender
I was brought but I was kind
And sometimes I get nervous
When I see an open door
Close your eyes
Clear your heart...
Cut the cord

Are we human?
Or are we dancer?
My sign is vital
My hands are cold
And I'm on my knees
Looking for the answer
Are we human?
Or are we dancer?

Pay my respects to grace and virtue
Send my condolences to good
Give my regards to soul and romance,
They always did the best they could
And so long to devotion
You taught me everything I know
Wave goodbye
Wish me well..
You've got to let me go

Are we human?
Or are we dancer?
My sign is vital
My hands are cold
And I'm on my knees
Looking for the answer
Are we human?
Or are we dancer?

Will your system be alright
When you dream of home tonight?
There is no message we're receiving
Let me know is your heart still beating

Are we human?
Or are we dancer?
My sign is vital
My hands are cold
And I'm on my knees
Looking for the answer

You've got to let me know

Are we human?
Or are we dancer?
My sign is vital
My hands are cold
And I'm on my knees
Looking for the answer
Are we human
Or are we dancer?

Are we human?
Or are we dancer?

Are we human
Or are we dancer?

Young girl, get out of my mind
My love for you is way out of line
Better run girl,
You're much too young girl

With all the charms of a woman
You've kept the secret of your youth
You led me to believe
You're old enough
To give me Love
And now it hurts to know the truth, Oh,

Young girl get out of my mind
my love for you is way outta line
better run girl, your much too young girl

Beneath your perfume and make-up
You're just a baby in disguise
And though you know
That it is wrong to be
Alone with me
That come on look is in your eyes, Oh,

Young girl get outta my mind
My love for you is way outta line
better run girl, Your much too young girl

So hurry home to your mama
I'm sure she wonders where you are
Get out of here
Before I have the time
To change my mind
'Cause I'm afraid we'll go too far, Oh,

Young girl get outta my mind
my love for you is way outta line
better run girl, your much too young girl

726135 2008-12-06 04:15:00 Lyrical confusion

There has been considerable confusion and debate over the line "Are we human or are we dancer?" in the song's chorus.[5] Many have incorrectly heard "denser" instead of "dancer", a change which significantly alters the interpretation of the song's meaning. On the band's official website, the biography section states that Flowers is singing "Are we human, or are we dancer?" and also says that the lyrics were inspired by a disparaging comment made by Hunter S. Thompson about how America was raising a generation of dancers.[6]

Entertainment Weekly's Pop Watch section called this line the "silliest lyrics of the week". They were puzzled by the interpretation, stating "most dancers are generally human".[7] Ganz with Rolling Stone called the line "classic Killers' nonsense."[4].

In this day and age?

It's been allowed in every day and age. It's only recently that people have been marrying after 13 or so.
It's thought that Juliet was about 13 or 14. The same is true in Eugene Onegin.

The same is true in Bert Brecht's "Whiskey Bar", which was then sung by the Doors.

Or do you expect us to be progressing from that?

726137 2008-12-06 04:35:00 This came on the radio the other day.....started listening to the lyrics.... :stare: surprised it's allowed in this day and age That was done by Gary puckett - some of the older songs wouldn't be allowed these days - helping a mate a while back and one he had that I didn't know was by The O'Kaysions --- (who you may say ) But the lyrics in the song to day would prob be banned, or be slapped with some law suit

The lryics

I'm a girl watcher, I'm a girl watcher...
Watchin' girls go by, my my my
I'm a girl watcher, I'm a girl watcher...
Here comes one now

I was just a boy when I threw away my toys
And found a new pastime to dwell on
Whenever I detect mem-bers of the other sex
I play the game I do so well on

[repeat chorus]

Hello there, female - my my, but you do look swell
Could you please walk a little slower
I wonder if you know that you're putting on a show
Could you please walk a little closer

The Song on Youtube (www.youtube.com) - have a listen and you'll see what I mean.

Have to agree. The musicians have their own meanings in their heads but cannot clearly convey it in their songs.
