838039 2009-12-09 08:28:00 Hey mate got one hard drive with 2 partitions on it. 1 for vista and one for 7. He wants to merge the two together so he only has one. Can it be done without losing any data on either partition? nedkelly (9059)

838041 2009-12-09 09:16:00 sorry not on to it tonight. He is going to delete the vista stuff and then merge them into one nedkelly (9059)
838042 2009-12-09 09:21:00 He needs to delete the vista partition then expand the W7 one to take in the now unallocated space. I hope the unallocated space is on the right of the W7 partition. If not, a slide operation has to be performed to make it so. linw (53)
838043 2009-12-09 18:46:00 he want to merge them to keep all the data on the vista partition nedkelly (9059)

Easy. But they do always say back up important files, so just say that to him, and if he doesn't, his choice, so you don't get in trouble. :P

I've learned that alright!

838047 2009-12-10 09:21:00 yeah told him to do that but he says he just wants to delete the vista system stuff (sorry Foxy) and then merge them together and not lose anything.
And I dont think his 7 partition will hold all of the stuff from the vista if he moves it over.
