725462 2008-12-04 04:46:00 Show, by use of simultaneous equations, the difference between a duck when it walks.

You may assume the following:

The duck is yellow.

It has two eyes.

It is not raining.

There are no oranges present.

The truck is green.

Bonus point:

Identify the sex of the duck.

Cheating will result in instant disqualification.

Cheers

Answer: Neither, one leg are both the same

Bonus point: Female, males are called drakes.

Downstream?

725466 2008-12-05 03:40:00 So, nobody is even game to determine the sex of the duck?

Whatever happened to taking up a challenge? :confused:

Cheers

725467 2008-12-05 03:44:00 There is no difference between a duck, since one leg is just the same. R2x1 (4628)
725468 2008-12-05 04:08:00 Hmmmm... "the difference between a duck when it walks" - between this and what? :p Renmoo (66)
725469 2008-12-05 04:29:00 a)

Knowing that a typical cat has a tail and four legs:

1T -> 4L (i.e. 1 Tail = 4 Legs)
2T -> 8L
3T -> 12L....

Now let's focus on the difference (which tells us how many more legs are there compared to the number of tails):
4L - 1T = 3
8 - 2 = 6
12 - 3 = 9
16 - 4 = 12
20 - 5 = 15
24 - 6 = 18
28 - 7 = 21

A difference of 21 indicates that there are 28 legs. 28 / 4 = 7 cats

(My Theory) :)
Mrs Misty - who has problems like this for breakfast - says your approach is impeccable ! :D
