726290 2008-12-07 18:52:00 I've always used HP or Canon for colour inkjet printers and Brother for B&W laser printers.
Never had a problem with any of them.

726291 2008-12-07 19:22:00 Brother make nice Laser printers.

I (from the experience I've had with IJ pinters) hate HP, hate Lexmark, Canon's great, theres nothing wrong with (new) epsons although the consumables aren't the cheapest. Brother is OK, but for the most part you can get a better equliviant canon for the same price you'd pay for the brother.

Have no idea about Dells. :) Although I know a few people who have bought one and I've never heard a peep out of them, so they must be OK. I suppose theyre just re-branded?

Samsung mono lasers are also OK, bought the olds an entry level one for a birthday pressie earlier this year and they love it, still on the half-full toner that the printer came with too.

726293 2008-12-07 22:22:00 I had a Brother Laser that gave excellent service for many years, when it finally died I replaced it with a Brother 2140 - What a heap of crap - The consumable drum, which is good for about 12-13000 copies, costs more than the price of a new printer. KenESmith (6287)
726294 2008-12-07 22:34:00 I understood that Brother printers are just rebranded HPs - I understand that the consumable from one can be used on the other...

Having previously owned a Canon and now an HP (All-in-One), I would never again buy another HP.

Are you getting the Canon laser printer/ HP relationship confused with Brother?

726296 2008-12-07 22:58:00 A distinct possibility Paul - it IS Monday morning after all.... :D johcar (6283)

I have the 2040 and am very pleased with it.
Had it for 18 months, will replace with a new one when ink runs out,I have seen for about $120.

726298 2008-12-08 05:05:00 I had an iP4300 and used it so much I wore out the print head. Bought the iP4500 for $165 online and have been very happy with both. I rate them better than the HPs & Brother I have previously owned. I have a continuous ink supply hooked up to it so consumables are very cheap.

Cheers.
